My friend gave me his laptop Sony PCG-7M1M. It wasn't there on the model list of sony website.

When I provided the serial number, I was told that the model was actually Sony VGN-FS515B. Even this didn't help me a lot. And I am still unable to find the audio drivers.

Waiting for someone. First, if the laptop is a Sony Vaio, then all you need to do is input the Model number into their website to get to the drivers page. THe PCG-7m1m is not a valid number, as you know. But, VGN-FS515B has a Sony Japan page.

(I hope you can read Japanese, I can't). I would find out what the real Model of my laptop is before continuing. Regards, Jeff.

Hi, many thanks for your reply, it's 5.15am Nd I am due a swim at 7am, The Sony Vaio model is a VGN-AR21S and the drivers not loading on reinstall are Modem device,Multimedia controller,Network controller,USB device and Video controller. I formatted and removed partitions and all was clean for a reinstall of the XP. None of the above drivers loaded on install, I used several versions of XP discs but it did not like it. I now have a verified version of XP Pro installed but the drivers will not load/update? I was happy with the Win7 pro that I loaded for my son and the pc worked great, BUT, he wants win xp back.
