I have it installed on my desktop Mac, and on my Mac laptop, and on my development server. Just for the record, its as simple as: omnis.exe -deactivate I don't believe it is the same on a MAC, you just delete the app don't you?

So that cannot deregister. So, does that reduce the possibilities? But otherwise, I suspect an email to Omnis Support may give you some list of what machines are connected.

Raw Message Hi all, Thanks to everyone who replied. Based on the info you gave me I felt emboldened to experiment, with mixed results. I was able to deactivate Omnis on my Mac laptop and then it was able to activate successfully on my PC laptop.

(Mischa - there was no need to reinstall on the PC laptop; when I started up Omnis it just activated successfully whereas previously it was failing). From this I guess that the form I had filled in at the Tigerlogic website seems to have done nothing. I then discovered I had an extra installation of a previous version of Studio 6 on my desktop Mac, so I deactivated it, and it appeared to complete the deactivation successfully. (From this it appears that even multiple installations of Omnis Studio 6 on the same computer each take up one 'slot') I am about to go ahead with the first installation of our software on a virtual machine hosted at Amazon Web Services. I wanted to have a developer version of Omnis running on a similar instance so I could solve problems. So I installed and activated a dev copy of Omnis on a Windows 2012 Server instance in my AWS account. To test Bryan's steps, I saved this instance and then ran up a new instance as a copy of the first, and I was able to de-activate Omnis on the copy.
