Has anyone used an attenuator with their Vintage Moderns? I started to think this because lately I have played few bar gigs and in near future I will be playing more them. So far I've been using Peavey Classic 30 and Roland Cube 30 on small gigs but I want to use my Marshall! Me and my band are playing at a local bar every Thursday as a house band and as an amp I'm using Cube 30. The bar where we are playing is quite small. Cube sounds decent but as you know cranked Marshall sounds much much better so I'd like to use my VM, at least on slightly bigger venues. The size of the amp and cab isn't that much of a problem but volume is or I'm afraid will be.
I'm getting the best sound with VM when Master Volume is around 6-7.5 on high range and I'm afraid that's too much on most bars! File k0s tanaka t22. So do you think attenuator would help me to reduce the volume?
Vintage Modern sounds just so good I feel kinda bad not using it on gigs. Another solution might be using VM's low range and getting higher gain sounds with pedals.
