While you're waiting for the info from on the differences, I'll relay my experience with updating the nav on my 100. The DVDs contained only data, not firmware for the system. The resolution, operation, and response remain the same. I updated my '04 every couple of years with OEM DVD data disks (Toyota releases the updates every October) so by the time I sold it, I had a '15 data disk in it. There were LOTs more roads and points of interest over the years (literally 1000's), but the I/O and screen res looked and worked just like it did in '04.[/USER]. The dongle interfaces with the dealer's TIS system where the purchased serial number is entered. The TIS system accesses update info over the internet and updates the Nav. All in, it's about $275. I did it once, and saw no difference after the update except an updated software version number. If/when I need updated nave data, I use my outboard Garmin GPS or my iPhone 7+.
